July 24th, 2017 - Last Letter to Pres.

Querido Presidente Rodríguez,

Alma 26:12... Otra vez el Señor fue muy misericordioso conmigo y me permitió lograr mi meta de terminar con una semana de excelencia. De verdad la misión me ha hecho muy duro de cierto forma... apenas lloro como hacía antes y lo extraño un poco de verdad; muchas veces sentía el Espíritu tan fuerte que empecé a llorar. Sé que no debo confundir el hecho que solo porque estoy llorando quiere decir que estoy sintiendo el Espíritu. Sin embargo el Señor me permitió demostrar lo más profundo de mi corazón hacía muchas personas que he llegado a amar muchísimo en mi misión en estos días. Me ha ayudado TANTO Él. Dependo de Él cada hora.

Tuvimos un milagro ayer, el último día y oportunidad para lograr la semana de excelencia. Faltando nuevos, estábamos en trío (por lo que Elder/Hermano Rojas volvió a Lucero) por una calle donde habíamos planificado específicamente para encontrar. Sentimos ir a una casa, no pasó nada, sentimos ir a otra, el hermano nos burló, íbamos a salir de allí pero al fin sentimos ir a una más. El hermano nos dejó pasar adentro a un lugar con varios cuartos e inquilinos que no conocían entre sí muy bien. La primera familia de tres nos aceptó, pero quisiéramos invitar a todos dentro de la casa a venir tal como es indicado en PME Cap. 9. Cada familia era medio tímida y no quiso llamar a la familia del próximo cuarto para salir. Así que puerta por puerta tocamos e invitamos a todos presentes y uno tras otro nos aceptó. Les juntamos en un espacio entre todos los cuartos e hicimos un "como comenzar a enseñar," utilizando escrituras, la doctrina del bautismo, e invitamos a todos a bautismo. Todos aceptaron una cita para volver. El Señor nos permitió lograr nuestra meta, la perseverancia hasta el fin aplica en todo momento y tiene sus propias bendiciones.

Solo quiero agradecerle por todo, Presidente. Lo dije de corazón cuando dije que le debo mucho. Me ha ayudado a superar cosas que nadie más en toda mi vida me ha ayudado a superar para ser un paso más cerca a nuestro Salvador y nuestro Padre Celestial y esto es algo que ni palabras pueden explicar. Mi agradecimiento es eterno. Ha cambiado mi vida, Presidente. Sé que la gloria será por el Señor, pero sepa que le quiero muchísimo. Gracias por decirme las cosas muchas veces difíciles para decir y escuchar, pero necesarias. Gracias por ser mi padre por este último año.

Dear President Rodriguez,

Alma 26:12 ... Again, the Lord was very merciful to me and allowed me to achieve my goal of ending a week of excellence. The mission really made me very hard in a certain way ... I hardly cry as I did before and I miss it a little bit truthfully; Many times I felt the Spirit so strong that I began to cry. I know I should not confuse the fact that just because I am crying means that I am feeling the Spirit. However the Lord allowed me to show the deepest of my heart to many people that I have come to love very much in my mission these days. He has helped me so much. I depend on Him every hour.

We had a miracle yesterday, the last day and opportunity to achieve the week of excellence. Lacking new ones, we were in a trio (so Elder / Hermano Rojas returned to Lucero) down a street we had specifically planned to find. We felt like going to a house, nothing happened, we felt like going to another, the brother made fun of us, we were going to get out of there but at last we felt like going to one more. The brother let us go inside to a place with several rooms and tenants who did not know each other very well. The first family of three accepted us, but we would like to invite everyone inside the house to come as indicated in PME Cap. 9. Each family was half shy and did not want to call the family of the next room to leave. So door to door we played and invited everyone present and one after another accepted us. We gathered them in a space between all the rooms and we did a "how to begin to teach," using scriptures, the doctrine of baptism, and we invited all to baptism. Everyone accepted a date to return. The Lord allowed us to achieve our goal, perseverance to the end applies at all times and has its own blessings.

I just want to thank you for everything, President. I said it in my heart when I said I owe him a lot. It has helped me to overcome things that no one else in my life has helped me overcome to be a step closer to our Savior and our Heavenly Father and this is something that no words can explain. My thanks are eternal. It has changed my life, President. I know that the glory will be for the Lord, but know that I love Him very much. Thank you for telling me the many times difficult things to say and listen, but necessary. Thank you for being my father for this past year.

July 17th, 2017 - Avispa vs Tarantula Battle and Pres Letter

Esta semana ha sido muy buena en cuanto a la zona. Voy a ser honesto en decir que nuestros indicadores clave están más bajos que nunca. Diría que cosas como firmando papeles para ser testigos del matrimonio en martes, entrevistas bautismales en miércoles, jueves, viernes, y sábado, ayudando con el bautismo del Élder Calderón y Rojas en domingo en la mañana, y visitando a nuestra familia de oro cada día en preparación por su bautismo y para poner su hijo Alexis al día en las lecciones nos afectaron un poco. A la vez siento que hicimos cosas de mayor importancia para que haya más bautismos. Aun así, podíamos haber hecho mejor yo creo. Tenemos planificado terminar este cambio con una semana de excelencia. Estamos sumamente felices por el éxito y semanas de excelencia en la zona. Amamos a nuestros Élderes.

Voy a ser honesto, muchos pensamientos del fin de mi misión se están peleando por mi atención entre la semana. Sigo luchando cada día para dar más, poner mis buenos hábitos más firmes, y romper más mis malos hábitos aun más. Iré luchando por la verdad y los conversos. Seguimos su consejo: visitamos a los conversos recientes, planifico escribir cartas a muchos de ellos en esta semana, estamos trabajando conjunto con consejo para que tengan servicios bautismales más espirituales, el sacerdocio y llamamientos más pronto, y buenos amistades para nutrirlos aun más con la buena palabra aquí en el Quior. Trabajaré hasta el fin.

Dear President Rodriguez,

This week has been very good in the area. I will be honest in saying that our key indicators are lower than ever. I would say things like signing papers to witness marriage on Tuesday, baptismal interviews on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, helping with the baptism of Elder Calderon and Rojas on Sunday morning, and visiting our gold family every day In preparation for his baptism and to put his son Alexis up to date in the lessons affected us a bit. At the same time I feel that we did more important things for more baptisms. Even so, we could have done better, I think. We plan to end this change with a week of excellence. We are extremely happy for the success and weeks of excellence in the area. We love our Elders.

I will be honest, many thoughts of the end of my mission are fighting for my attention between the week. I keep fighting every day to give more, to put my good habits more firm, and to break more my bad habits even more. I will fight for the truth and the converts. We follow his advice: we visit the recent converts, plan to write letters to many of them this week, we are working together with counsel to have more spiritual baptismal services, the priesthood and appeals sooner, and good friendships to nurture them even more with the Good word here in the Quior. I will work to the end.

July 10th, 2017 - Photos, Today´s Zone Activity... My Last One, and This Week's Letter to President

Esta es de la última semana donde estaba presente nuestro presidente de misión.

This was from last week's baptism where our mission president was present.

This is our best family we have right now. So cool how we found them. Someone gave us a reference out in the middle of nowhere and their house met all the requirements but it wasn't the reference we were looking for.... just turned out to be a family of golden investigators. Man we love them so much. Huberth (dad), Delfia (mom), Alexis (son 9yrs old), and Damian (3 yrs). They have plans to get married on July 21st we're going to be their witnesses of matrimony and then their baptism will be the 22nd if everything goes well... my last Saturday here in the mish. Prayers that all goes well please!

We played what will probably be my last game of Bolivian Futbol... wow hard to think that. We ate some homemade pizzas after. Such an awesome zone of Élders. I guess I'm kind of known for making this pose layin down now haha so they made me do it up on the basketball/soccer goal. XD Love and miss you all.

Intercambio con Elder Cuaycal: oficialmente uno de los misioneros que jamás he conocido. SIN PARAR eficacia, citas fijas a cada hora y a veces media hora del día, contactos inspirados imprevistos en el camino, citas cerca la una a la otra, conversos recientes buenísimos, hartos bautismos, carpeta de área y diario al día, más limpia la casa, ánimos, energía, amor, obediencia, enfoque en la obra, detector de humo bien, confianza con los demás Élderes... wow, Presidente. Está listo para ser líder de zona y más. Tuvimos 12 lecciones en un día, mi nuevo récord, igual para él y 8 nuevos investigadores, y algunos con fecha también. Solo le dije que a veces al enseñar tanto y ser tan breve en las lecciones que a veces olvidó de dar y verificar compromisos y enseñar bien los principios así que progresan más lento, pero obviamente él está con mucho éxito así que le animé y agradecí sobre todo en vez de corregirlo o dar sugerencias.

Al principio el mini misionero estaba siendo muy negativo y crítico de todos (algo que a veces es mi debilidad), pero está mejorando poco a poco. En comparación a otros jóvenes de su edad, sabe mucho de la obra y trabaja bien. Obviamente hay mucho a lo cual él tiene que acostumbrarse pero está yendo bien. Élder Calderón sigue siendo lo máximo.

Estamos bien, luchando por la obediencia con exactitud en el horario más que todo, fuera de eso todo bien con mi compañero. Seguimos trabajando y perseverando hasta el fin. Tenemos una familia más y varias posibilidades por el bautismo antes que me vaya.

Milagro de obediencia: Élder Aulestia nos instó a que actualizáramos las referencias cada semana (lo cual usted permitió en el consejo de líderes). Lo hice la siguiente semana imprimiendo la lista de referencias de portal misional y encontramos una referencia de oro. La hermana había estado esperando desde Marzo a que le llamáramos. En la primera lección aceptó fecha bautismal por el 29 de Julio y vive justo al frente de una referencia MAPF que no pudimos encontrar. El Señor trabaja en muchas maneras.

Dear President Rodriguez,

Exchange with Elder Cuaycal: officially one of the missionaries I have never met. WITHOUT STOPing efficiency, fixed appointments every hour and sometimes half an hour of the day, unforeseen inspirational contacts on the way, appointments close to each other, recent converts, full baptisms, area folder and daily newspaper, cleaner the house , Encouragement, energy, love, obedience, focus on the work, smoke detector well, trust with others Elders ... wow, President. You are ready to be a zone leader and more. We had 12 lessons in one day, my new record, same for him and 8 new researchers, and some with date as well. I only told him that sometimes when teaching so much and being so brief in the lessons that he sometimes forgot to give and verify commitments and teach principles well progress slower, but obviously he is with much success so I encouraged and thanked him about Everything instead of correcting it or giving suggestions.

At first the mini missionary was being very negative and critical of all (something that is sometimes my weakness), but is improving little by little. In comparison to other young people his age, he knows a lot about the work and works well. Obviously there is a lot to which he has to get used to but it is going well. Elder Calderon remains the ultimate.

We are fine, struggling for obedience accurately on schedule most of all, outside of that all good with my partner. We continue to work and persevere to the end. We have one more family and several possibilities for baptism before I leave.

Miracle of obedience: Elder Aulestia urged us to update references every week (which you allowed on the leaders' council). I did it the following week by printing the list of missionary portal references and found a gold reference. The sister had been waiting since March for us to call her. In the first lesson he accepted a baptismal date for the 29th of July and lives right in front of a MAPF reference that we could not find. The Lord works in many ways.

Querido Presidente Rodríguez,

Estamos esforzándonos siempre a seguir sus consejos y compartirlas con la zona. Parece de verdad que la revelación que recibe usted nos está ayudando a todos. Pusimos la primera semana de nuestro grano de arena como líderes de zona: 4 semanas de excelencia y 7 bautismos. Las relaciones entre los Élderes están fuertes, el amor y caridad están altos, el trabajo arduo y obediencia está mejor que nunca. Gracias, Presidente. Que tiempo tan maravilloso para dar mis últimos empujones en esta gran obra. Buscaré más por los milagros en esta semana, se que los hay.

TAN agradecido por nuestro bautismo esta semana. Algo muy especial poder tenerle allí, gracias. 

Un día sentimos ir por una calle para encontrar, al principio nos pusimos un poco flojo y dudoso que encontráramos a alguien por esa calle y nuestras dudas se cumplieron: no encontramos a nadie. Ayunamos, volvimos más obedientes y trabajadores por la oración y ayuda del Señor. Vinieron 10 a la iglesia, uno de los cuales un joven que había asistido ya 3 veces sin que lo visitemos. Sacamos sus datos mejor esta vez y se nos dificultó encontrar su casa pero perseveramos y lo encontramos. El joven de 18 años nos cayó tan bien dentro de segundos. ¡Ya estaba preguntándonos acerca de servir en una misión! Al charlar un poco con él yendo a su casa nos dimos cuenta que estamos en la MISMA calle donde sentimos contactar antes pero que este joven vivía en la primera mitad de esta calle, la cual saltamos mientras caminamos lentamente dudando si íbamos a encontrar a alguien ese día, tan solo pasando el lugar un poquito donde el Señor quiso que fuéramos. Él sabía quien estaba preparado, otra vez: seguir la primera impresión. El joven invitó a su amigo de 18 años en medio camino a su casa para juntar con nosotros. Los dos eran nuevos investigadores, exactamente lo que faltábamos y rogábamos al Señor poder tener el día domingo para lograr la semana de excelencia. Los dos aceptaron fecha bautismal en la primera visita. ... y al pensar que hace tan solo unas semanas nos dijo que debemos buscar varones de 18 años en adelante. ¿Cómo lo hace, Presidente?

We are always striving to follow your advice and share them with the area. It truly seems that the revelation you receive is helping us all. One day we felt we were going down a street to find, at first we got a bit loose and doubtful that we found someone down that street and our doubts were fulfilled: we did not find anyone. We fasted, we returned more obedient and hardworking by the prayer and help of the Lord. 10 came to the church, one of whom a young man who had already attended 3 times without us visiting him. We got your data better this time and it was difficult for us to find your house but we persevered and we found it. The 18 year old fell so well within seconds. I was already wondering about serving on a mission! When we chatted a little with him going home we realized that we are in the same street where we felt contact before but that this young man lived in the first half of this street, which we jumped as we walked slowly doubting if we were to find someone that Day, just passing the place a little where the Lord wanted us to go. He knew who was ready, again: to follow the first impression. The young man invited his 18-year-old friend halfway to his house to join us. The two were new investigators, exactly what we lacked and we prayed to the Lord to have the Sunday to achieve the week of excellence. The two accepted the baptismal date on the first visit. ... and thinking that just a few weeks ago he told us that we should look for males 18 years and over. How do you do it, President?

We watched a movie a couple hours ago: Moana! Way cool! :) My comp forgot his plaque in the house and we made fun of him. :)

A picture board in our mission offices.... left hand side and the top are the ones that will soon go home, right hand side bottom just got started... I was there just a few weeks ago. I'm sure you can find me now. :/

This was a sad moment this past week.... (we have a special schedule for our mission that allows us to be awake til 11pm every night just so you know haha).

June 26th, 2017 - Another Week Down :)

(Currently in El Quior, Plan 3000 Zone, Santa Cruz Bolivia close to Avenida Paurito)

Querido Presidente Rodríguez,

Estoy mejorando la calidad y cumpliendo mis estudios más. Mis intercambios creo que son muy buenos. Obviamente siempre va a haber espacio para mejorar. Voy a prestar más atención a los detalles. Los Élderes siempre me agradecen sinceramente por enseñarles mucho en los intercambios y eso me ayuda muchísimo a sentirme que estoy terminando bien. Les amo mucho a los Élderes aquí en la zona muchos de los cuales han estado junto con nosotros por algunos cambios ahora. Les conocemos bien. Estamos enseñando súper bien, Presidente. We just click en la manera en la que trabajamos y por la primera vez en mi misión hay un muy buen ping pong, uso de escrituras, enseñando la doctrina eficaz, creativo, y brevemente. Trabajamos duro al salir de la casa. Lamentablemente muchos de nuestros investigadores tienen que casarse así que estamos en eso. Estamos mejorando la carpeta de área y estoy actualizando mi diario lo cual ha llegado a ser un gran tesoro de mi misión. Enviamos el financiero rápido y semanalmente junto con cumpliendo los extras deberes que tenemos como líderes de zona. Siempre esforzamos y creo que comunicamos sus directrices bien a los misioneros en un momento oportuno. Seguimos encontrando cada semana a pesar de que el indicador clave ha estado bajando desde que encontramos a 46 investigadores. Espero que estemos haciendo un buen trabajo.

Intercambio con Elder Cohelo: está mejor que pensé. ¡Qué eficacia este Élder! Salimos a la hora, hicieron los estudios, han mejorado en su carpeta y limpieza. No dejó de trabajar y tuvo el anzuelo en al agua casi 90% del tiempo en lo que estamos afuera. Mis únicos consejos para él eran más planes C y D específicos en su plan diario, hablar un poco más lento y con más preguntas inspiradas para que el espíritu pueda testificar y las personas pueden entender y comprender mejor lo que está diciendo, y que en la plan semanal toman un tiempo para "filtrar" los investigadores, decidiendo a quienes dejar y con quienes enfocar entre algunas otras cositas. Élder Cohelo ama la misión y es un Élder MUY bueno.

Los 70 Bs por misionero por mes se fueron muy rápido así que tendremos que ser mucho más creativo para hacer algo gratis por la próxima actividad de zona, pero igual creo que todo va a estar bien.

Dear President Rodriguez,

I am improving the quality and fulfilling my studies more. My exchanges I think are very good. Obviously there will always be room for improvement. I will pay more attention to the details. The Elders always thank me sincerely for teaching them much in the exchanges and that helps me a lot to feel that I am finishing well. I really love the Elders here in the area many of whom have been with us for some changes now. We know them well. We're teaching super good, President. We just click on the way we work and for the first time in my mission there is a very good ping pong, use of scriptures, teaching doctrine effectively, creatively, and briefly. We work hard when we leave the house. Unfortunately many of our researchers have to get married so we're at it. We are improving the area folder and I am updating my journal which has become a great treasure of my mission. We send the financial fast and weekly along with fulfilling the extra duties we have as zone leaders. We always strive and believe that we communicate your guidelines well to the missionaries at an opportune time. We continue to find each week despite the fact that the key indicator has been falling since we found 46 researchers. I hope we are doing a good job.

Exchange with Elder Cohelo: It's better than I thought. How effective this Elder! We left on time, did the studies, have improved in their folder and cleaning. He did not stop working and had the hook in the water almost 90% of the time in what we are outside. My only advice to him was more specific plans C and D in his daily plan, to speak a little slower and with more inspired questions so that the spirit can testify and people can better understand and understand what he is saying, and that in the Weekly plan take some time to "filter" the researchers, deciding who to leave and with whom to focus among some other things. Elder Cohelo loves the mission and is a VERY good Elder.

The 70 Bs per missionary per month went very fast so we will have to be much more creative to do something free for the next zone activity, but I think everything will be fine.

June 19th , 2017 - Pres this week

Querido Presidente Rodríguez,

Estaba muy enfermo yo por unos 3 días esta semana con lo que parece un resfrío fuerte no más espero. Tuve una FUERTE fiebre y dolores de todo el cuerpo. Vomité un poco. Descansé lo necesario, pedí una bendición de salud, seguí el consejo de la enfermera, tomé mucha agua y paracetamol (encontré que con ciertas marcas de paracetamol no pasan nada), y seguí trabajando. Igual tuvimos éxito. Estoy bien ahora.

Milagro: la bendición de salud que dimos a nuestra investigadora Delfia de Velasco en la última semana sirvió y ella está mejor de salud que nunca. Ya han ido a un registro civil para ver cuáles papeles necesitan por su matrimonio y quieren casarse antes que me vaya. Quieren que seamos sus testigos. Al ir y tratar de recoger otra familia de investigadores que nos falló en domingo sentimos un poco triste, pero al esforzarnos ser obedientes y puntuales igual llegamos a la iglesia a las 8:50 am (10 minutos temprano) y llegó otra vez por sí solo desde muy lejos, la familia Velasco a las 8:53 am siguiendo nuestro ejemplo de puntualidad y dejando suficiente tiempo para conocer al obispo y otros miembros para hermanarles tranquilamente y atraer el espíritu para que ellos tengan una experiencia más edificante en la iglesia. Un milagro de la obediencia en cuanto a la puntualidad que nos ha pedido cumplir más recién.

No hemos bautizado a nadie en este mes pero tenemos a MUCHOS que son muy probables y tienen fechas por el siguiente mes. Gracias por todo, Presidente.

Estamos cumpliendo muy bien en amar y ver la potencial de cada investigador y también en el uso de las escrituras en las lecciones, pero seguiremos mejorando en eso; gracias por su guía.

Dear President Rodriguez,

I was very sick myself for about 3 days this week with what looks like a strong cold no more I hope. I had a STRONG fever and aches all over my body. I vomited a little. I rested what I needed, I asked for a blessing of health, I followed the advice of the nurse, I took lots of water and paracetamol (I found that with certain brands of acetaminophen nothing happens), and I kept working. We were successful, too. I'm fine now.

Miracle: The blessing of health that we gave our researcher Delfia de Velasco in the last week served and she is in better health than ever. They have already gone to a civil registry to see what papers they need for their marriage and they want to get married before I leave. They want us to be their witnesses. As we went and tried to pick up another family of researchers who failed us on Sunday we felt a little sad, but in striving to be obedient and timely we arrived at church at 8:50 am (10 minutes early) and came again by itself From a long distance, the Velasco family at 8:53 am following our example of punctuality and leaving enough time to meet the bishop and other members to twin them quietly and attract the spirit so that they have a more edifying experience in the church. A miracle of obedience in terms of punctuality that has asked us to fulfill more recently.

We have not baptized anyone in this month but we have MANY who are very likely and have dates for the next month. Thank you for everything, President.

We are doing very well in loving and seeing the potential of each researcher and also in using the scriptures in the lessons, but we will continue to improve on that; Thank you for your guide.
