Querido Presidente Rodríguez,
No creo que nunca he sentido tan gozoso y exitoso en esta gran obra. Tantos milagros, muchos por bautizar, y muchísimos nuevos. Amo esta obra con todo mi corazón.... las palabras no pueden expresar cuánto regocijo en el alcanzar a tantos hijos e hijas de nuestro Padre Celestial con la voz de trompeta, declarando las buenas nuevas y arrepentimiento. He orado todo mi misión por este mismo éxito que sé que solo el Señor puede ceder. Quise de verdad estirar mucho para ver qué potencial tiene nuestra área combinado con nuestros esfuerzos tan grandes y llenos de fe. Yo de verdad sé ahora que cuando usamos el tiempo con sabiduría y ponemos metas realistas pero que nos exigen a ser mejores, que podemos lograr mucho más y mirar hacía atrás y saber de verdad que hemos cumplido con una mayor parte de nuestro gran potencial en esta vida.
Había un tiempo en que iba a cruzar un charco grande en la calle en esta semana pero decidí por alguna razón al último momento ir por otro caminito seco a un lado, dentro de momentos no más me di cuenta que había un hombre parado en su puerta mirándonos. En menos que unos segundos pasó por mi mente: "¿Hablo con él? Ya es tarde y tenemos otro lugar por donde ir ahorita. Hemos pasado por aquí mucho y nunca he visto a él. Debe ser por algo. Hablaré con él." Estaba en un escapadito de su trabajo donde normalmente vive y trabaja 24 horas al día. Encontramos que su esposa es menos activa y nadie más en su familia es bautizado. Eran sumamente amables e interesados, todos sus 4 hijos salieron de inmediato para escucharnos, algunos parados porque no habían suficiente sillas. Cómo pasamos allí en este momento y los pequeños cambios de planes para ceder a lo que eran impresiones del Espíritu para encontrar a esta familia de oro, solo el Señor sabía.
Anoche, a las 9:00 pm en camino a casa en la lluvia vimos un trufi enorme plantado con algunas personas empujando para ayudarlo en salir del barro, no pudieron lograrlo. Miré a compañero y solo dije "¿Vamos?" Fuimos en un camino directo para ayudar pasando por charcos, basura, plantas, barro, etc. y empezamos a empujar sin preguntar si podíamos ayudar. Con las fuerzas de mi compañero y yo (y del Señor) más, el trufi salió un unos segundos. Suerte que tuvimos botas puestas en este momento, nos quitó mucha preocupación de la mente y nos salvó mucho tiempo que hubiéramos pasado buscando otros caminos para evitar los mini ríos y barro que abunde en nuestra área. El trufi dio la vuelta y entró en su casa donde estaba quedando por la noche, las 5 personas ayudando allí nos escucharon mientras enseñamos algo breve; su amistad y sonrisas únicas mostró la diferencia que un poco de servicio puede hacer como la introducción perfecta del mensaje del Evangelio sempiterno.
Intercambio con Élder Boggess: pude compartir bastante sugerencias, él está haciendo muy bien, su español es mucho mejor. Necesitaba un poco de guía no más para hacer que su trabajo sea un poco más eficaz y ellos pueden encontrar más nuevos investigadores. También ayudé en esta situación rara por la cual le llamé. Ellos no sabían muy bien qué hacer y no sabían si llamarle o no. Ya seguirán con eso y buscarán el permiso verbal del padre para bautizar a esa joven.
Intercambio con Élder Brimhall aquí en mi área: ya conozco a mi área bien, encontramos a 5 nuevos, fue muy bien, tuvimos como 6 lecciones, ayudé y recordé a Élder Brimhall la importancia de todas las cosas que debemos esforzar a hacer en la primera lección (establecer sus antecedentes religiosas, qué esperan de nuestras visitas, puntos de como comenzar a enseñar, los 5 principios brevemente del Evangelio, la doctrina del bautismo, invitación bautismal, oración de rodillas del jefe de la familia, etc.) y tratar el Libro de Mormón como algo muy precioso al darlo a las personas en vez de rápidamente y así no más. Igual sé que nadie es perfecto, yo tengo que mejorar en contacto visual al enseñar y actualizando la carpeta de área. Amo a Élder Brimhall, muy buen Élder, perseveró hasta el fin de la noche en la lluvia conmigo.
Última cosita, creo que muchos líderes de zona están terminando sus misiones en este cambio, habrán nuevos secretarios, y creo que un nuevo asistente. Amo a mi compañero y mi área, y estoy sumamente agradecido por todo que usted y el Señor me han permitido en cuanto a mis asignaciones en mi misión. Sabe que no me gustan hacer las cosas por el orgullo de la posición, yo sé que tengo mucho para mejorar y por eso quiero seguir probando nuevas cosas para aprender. Que sea la voluntad y revelación del Señor, pero me encantaría probar todavía ser un asistente, enseñar a otro líder de zona, o abrir área para estirarme aun más y bendecir a las vidas de otros misioneros. De igual forma, seguiré levantando donde me paro. Gracias por todo, Presidente, de verdad.

Dear President Rodriguez,
I do not think I have ever felt so joyful and successful in this great work. So many miracles, many to be baptized, and many new ones. I love this work with all my heart .... the words can not express how much rejoicing in reaching so many sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father with the trumpet voice, declaring the good news and repentance. I have prayed my whole mission for this same success that I know that only the Lord can yield. I really wanted to stretch a lot to see what potential our area has combined with our great, faith-filled efforts. I really know now that when we use time wisely and set realistic goals but that we are required to be better, that we can achieve much more and look back and truly know that we have fulfilled a greater part of our great potential in this lifetime.
There was a time when I was going to cross a big puddle in the street this week but I decided for some reason at the last moment to go for another dry path to the side, within moments I no longer realized that there was a man standing at his door Looking at us In less than a few seconds he passed through my mind: "I talk to him? It's late and we have another place to go right now, we've been around a lot and I've never seen him. He was on a break from his job where he normally lives and works 24 hours a day. We find that his wife is less active and no one else in her family is baptized. They were extremely kind and interested, all 4 of their children left immediately to hear us, some standing because there were not enough chairs. How we spent there at this time and the small changes of plans to yield to what were impressions of the Spirit to find this family of gold, only the Lord knew.
Last night, at 9:00 pm on the way home in the rain we saw a huge truffle planted with some people pushing to help him out of the mud, they could not do it. I looked at my partner and I just said "Let's go?" We went on a direct path to help by passing puddles, trash, plants, mud, etc. And we started pushing without asking if we could help. With the strength of my companion and I (and of the Lord) more, the trufi came out a few seconds. Lucky we had boots on at the moment, it took a lot of worry out of our mind and saved us a lot of time that we would have gone looking for other ways to avoid the mini rivers and mud that abound in our area. The trufi turned around and went into his house where he was staying at night, the 5 people helping there listened to us while we taught something brief; His friendship and unique smiles showed the difference that a little service can do as the perfect introduction of the message of the everlasting Gospel.
Exchange with Elder Boggess: I was able to share enough suggestions, he is doing very well, his Spanish is much better. I needed some guidance no more to make their work a little more effective and they can find more new researchers. I also helped in this rare situation for which I called him. They did not know very well what to do and did not know whether to call him or not. They will continue with that and seek the father's verbal permission to baptize that young woman.
Exchange with Elder Brimhall here in my area: I already know my area well, we found 5 new ones, it was great, we had 6 lessons, I helped and I reminded Elder Brimhall of the importance of all the things we should strive to do in the first Lesson (setting out your religious background, what you expect from our visits, how to begin teaching, the 5 briefly principles of the Gospel, baptismal doctrine, baptismal invitation, kneeling prayer by the head of the family, etc.) and Book of Mormon as something very precious to give to people rather than quickly and so no more. I also know that nobody is perfect, I have to improve in visual contact when teaching and updating the area folder. I love Elder Brimhall, very good Elder, persevered until the end of the night in the rain with me.
Last thing, I think many zone leaders are finishing their missions on this change, there will be new secretaries, and I think a new assistant. I love my partner and my area, and I am most grateful for everything that you and the Lord have allowed me in my assignments in my mission. He knows I do not like to do things because of the pride of position, I know I have a lot to improve and that is why I want to continue trying new things to learn. Let it be the will and revelation of the Lord, but I would love to try to still be an assistant, teach another zone leader, or open up an area to stretch myself further and bless the lives of others missionaries.
