I'm still here in the offices finishing up some stuff with the assistants, we'll be leaving soon here. I just found out I'll be going to one of the areas farthest from the center this week called Suárez 2. It's like 10th ring stuff. I'll be sure to see some more mosquitos and wildlife now. I'm excited. It's part of one of the zones that baptizes the most. I'll be a district leader with the special assignment of pumping up an Élder in my district who´s in his last transfer and kind of giving up. I need to motivate him. Another adventure! Here we go!
(Response to Dad's Emails)
The thorn thing seems to have healed up pretty well now, just a little scar circle. Otherwise I'm doing just fine health wise. Thanks for the prayers and worries. :j We're still trying to talk with plenty of new people every day, but I think we need to try some new finding methods since knocking doors and talking with people in the streets for the past month or so hasn´t had many results. President finally approved us to work with the sisters and make new boundaries for our area so we might finally escape from the center of the city a little and work our way into 3rd, 4th, and 5th ring where there should be more potential. We're still trying real hard, but my comp is gettin kinda down. My shoes will hold out. :) I guess I forgot to tell you guys that I finally got my custom aguayo suit made, it turned out real nice, mission bucket list item checked there. We seem to laugh pretty hard any time we're all together at night. I gotta get caught up on my journal more to write em all down, we've been cookin new breakfast items every mornin recently: omelets, egg sandwiches, fried banana chip and a bolivian dish called masaco, pancakes, etc. I just love learning new stuff every day, not having to deal with the heat, and getting to see so many people so often. I'm pretty much the go to guy for transfers now because I'm the one with the most time in the office out of all the secretaries and assistants now. I like bein the big fish a lil pond in that respect and helping all the other guys out every now and then with cool computer tricks I've learned. Yup, I should be leaving the offices this monday or next transfer and my comp goes home one transfer before me since I extended. It's pretty hard to motivate other people for me... idk. It's something I could probably improve in. Haha they don't do much for easter here... it's more of a remembrance of pascua, or the holy week, not so much bunnies and eggs, but there's a few treatsins in the stores, I haven't seen anything special for Easter.
Transfers are this week. I think I mentioned that a little bit ago. The 22nd of march. We strive to find every week and the most recent ones we found are a family of like 5 snakes as well call them here.... or girls that flirt with missionaries. Sooooo we probably won't be teaching them too much. I still learn stuff every day, but I do really have my duties dialed in now. President practically doesn't have to remind me of anything like he did before. i just look ahead in his calendar and get things done and leave em on his desk. My companion still has a lot to learn about his position, but I would say the group of missionaries we have in the offices right now is one of the best teams there's ever been here. Everyone takes care of their own job really well. I think I'll be leaving the offices this transfer (this wednesday) or the next transfer so president can leave me for at least 2 transfers in my last area. Nah, I haven't sent too many Elders home. Just Elder Garcia and Elder Decoud. Yea, it's kinda bad since the elders start gettin trunky, good because they have experience and leave cool stuff behind. That's true I learn a lot from the older elders as well. i guess it is kinda similar.... not too close together... medium sized. idk. We were one of two wards in the whole mission with 3 companionships, but that recently got reduced to just 2 for the first time in a while. Elder Flores, whom I trained, is in my district but not my ward. My district includes Cañoto 1 y 2 (my ward), El Fuerte 1 y 2 (different ward). Elder Flores is in El Fuerte 1 which is actually pretty far away. Like 6th - 8th rings.I did some exchanges with them. They've been baptizing almost every week this transfer. He's been doing great. My pdays have been pretty good. I organized another trip to the botanical garden last week and we fed some giant fish called Pacú that fought for the food a lil, some some lil alligators, a tortoise, got lost a little, and just about 100 species of mosquitos. I danced and did some speed walking to escape though. We watched Megamind with the whole zone today and had Papa John's pizza and brownies, then got a haircut. Pretty good. I have to buy flights right now for transfers this week. A while back we hit up like 3 museums in our area. They were alright, not that great. I've just forgotten to update you guys, not so much that i haven't done anything. We don't really eat dinner here in our mish.... just some snacks. Lunch is really big and I eat a good breakfast so I'm usually not too hungry at night. Someone brings us homecooked meals for lunch here in the offices. I like sopa de maní (peanut soup), salteñas (classic bolivia hot pocket like thing), empanadas, milanesa de pollo (basically chicken finger fillett). Sometimes we go to some special place to eat. Every Sunday we eat in a different member's house organized by the relief society so that's really cool. We had tacos last week. They have weird super dried out potatoes here called chuño... it's pretty gnar, not too bad tasting though. Yup I live with 3 other elders and the 2 assistants live on the floor above us across the hall so that's pretty fun but distracting at night if I want to get anything productive done or go to sleep on time. I think President Rodríguez has the majority of stuff on lock now. He'll have a year towards the end of June. My shoes are fine, I pretty much wear the same pair every day here since we only walk from 6-9pm pretty much. I'm fine with my shoes I got and I have the suit I wanted to make. I haven't played soccer in a while, it's been pretty hot still.
Sure love and miss you guys too. :) Take care, dad.
