Uno de los momentos más felices de mi vida en esta semana pasada cuando Presidente Rodríguez nos invitó a todos nosotros en Santa Cruz que habían estado con Presidente Willard por lo menos por alguna parte de sus misiones en un almuerzo con él como una sorpresa. Casi todos lloraron. Estaba aquí como parte de su nuevo trabajo como asistente administrador de los seminarios e institutos de todo sur y parte de norte américa. Una experiencia inolvidable.
Querido Presidente Rodríguez,
Ha venido el tiempo otra vez para cumplir en lo que le dije: levantaré donde me paro. Gracias que puedo seguir y terminar mi misión en esta área con un compañero tan bueno.
Otra semana limpia.
Intercambio con Elder Abendaño: enseña y toma la iniciativa de enseñanza muy bien. Falta tomar la iniciativa un poco en planificación y el encontrar eficazmente. Está más enfocado que antes. Podría hacer algo especial por el próximo cambio imagino. Fue bien con él.
Estamos esforzando a encontrar todos los días pero por haber encontrado tantos nuevos investigadores, nos está dificultando enseñarles todos y seguir encontrando más. Muchos probables por el bautismo pero, seguiremos encontrando todos los días. Tenemos lecciones directas para explicar a los que no están cumpliendo compromisos que otros necesitan de este mensaje y que nos llamen o nos paren en la calle cuando están listos para recibir estas bendiciones y cumplir. Nos libra el tiempo para atender a los hijos e hijas preparados.
Una familia tomó la iniciativa de leer en el Libro de Mormón en esta última semana. Dijeron que encontraron entre sus cosas el mismo folleto de La Restauración que los misioneros le dieron hace mucho tiempo. Admitieron sus mentiras que dijeron a aquellos misioneros que no tenían tiempo o habían leído. Reconocieron que la tendencia natural es recordar de Dios solo cuando algo malo pasa en nuestras vidas. Su novia enfermó gravemente con algo desconocido hace 3 años. Apenas puede salir de la cama, está con MUCHOS dolores, y ha bajado de pesa muchísimo a un nivel peligroso. Al llegar nosotros de nuevo después de tanto tiempo, el Señor había estado preparándoles. Habíamos ido por su casa buscando una referencia que parecía no existir pero explicaba exactamente como parecía su casa de ellos, Familia Velasco. El hermano al fin hizo caso a nuestras invitaciones y ha leído hasta 1 Nefi 8 en tan solo una semana. Anota palabras y frases que no entiende para nuestras lecciones. Al verificar su lectura brevemente al comienzo de la lección, le enseñamos como ESTUDIAR las escrituras en vez de solo leerlas. Enseñamos como usar los apuntes de pie y guía de estudio de las escrituras en el Libro de Mormón y casi contesta todas sus preguntas por sí solo ahora. Él reconoce que al punto en que empezamos a visitarle de nuevo, él encontró un buen trabajo porque al fin oró por tal cosa. Su jefe es menos activo pero le está ayudando a entender más. Sus vidas están cambiando por tan solo cumplir con leer el Libro de Mormón todos los días. Dimos una bendición de salud a su esposa, está mejorando. El milagro más grande era cuando entraron en la reunión sacramental por sus propios esfuerzos habiendo llegado desde LEJOS con su novia caminando y pareciendo mejor que nunca en salud. Se casarán y se bautizarán aquí pronto. Amo este libro.

The time has come again to fulfill what I told you: I will rise where I stand. Thank you that I can continue and finish my mission in this area with such a good companion.
Interchange with Elder Abendaño: teaches and takes the initiative of teaching very well. It is necessary to take the initiative a little in planning and finding it effectively. He's more focused than before. I could do something special for the next change I imagine. It went well with him.
We are struggling to find every day but because we have found so many new researchers, it is difficult for us to teach them all and keep finding more. It frees us the time to attend to the children and daughters prepared.
One family took the initiative to read in the Book of Mormon this past week. They said that they found among their things the same booklet of The Restoration that the missionaries gave a long time ago. They admitted their lies that told those missionaries they did not have time or had read. They recognized that the natural tendency is to remember God only when something bad happens in our lives. His girlfriend was seriously ill with something unknown 3 years ago. He can barely get out of bed, he is with MANY pains, and he has fallen from weight to a dangerous level very much. When we arrived again after so long, the Lord had been preparing them. We had gone by his house looking for a reference that did not seem to exist but explained exactly how it looked like their home, Familia Velasco. The brother finally heeded our invitations and read up to 1 Nephi 8 in just one week. Write down words and phrases you do not understand for our lessons. By checking your reading briefly at the beginning of the lesson, we teach you how to STUDY scriptures instead of just reading them. We teach you how to use the footnotes and scripture study guide in the Book of Mormon and almost answer all of your questions for yourself now. He recognizes that to the point where we began to visit him again, he found a good job because at last he prayed for such a thing. Your boss is less active but is helping you to understand more. Their lives are changing just by fulfilling the Book of Mormon every day. We gave his wife a blessing, she is getting better. The greatest miracle was when they entered sacrament meeting by their own efforts having come from FAR with their bride walking and looking better than ever in health. They will get married and be baptized here soon. I love this book.
